![]() The book is not really appropriate for someone in need of clinical help, though. Overall, it's not a terrible book, and there are a few places where she is inspiring in explaining how to change your perspective. I knew who Joyce Meyer was but hadn't watched her on tv or listened to her preach, so I didn't come in with an opinion. ![]() ![]() I was given this book by a family member. It is a "go-to" book for me, when I find myself worrying too much, which is why I'm reading it again. It wouldn't have sold over a million copies had it not benefited so many people. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who tends to worry or have anxiety issues. She supports her assertions with Scriptures - which I love, since, as Christians, we are to be rooted in the Word if we are to overcome battlefields, like those that seek to conquer our minds. It is an easy read in the sense that her writing is plain and to the point. The book is broken down in chapters, each dealing with an aspect of the mind and the many ways we allow certain factors to control our thinking and consequently our behavior. ![]() Joyce Meyers writes with such simplicity for such a complicated subject. The result is a peace that surpasses all understanding. The book teaches me (I'm still working on this issue.) how to lean on God, how to, as folks say, let go and let God. It has helped me deal with issues of anxiety - of worrying too much, particularly about things I can't control anyway. This is actually my second time reading this book. In the Parables Workbook, master expositor and Bible commentator John MacArthur draws on his years spent studying and explaining the Word of God to guide readers through some of the most famous and influential short stories that Jesus told.Joyce Meyer is one of the world's leading practical Bible teachers. Jesus told these parables so they would clearly comprehend His message about the kingdom of God and the reason He had come to earth. Yet the all were filled with profound spiritual lessons that He wanted His listeners to hear and understand. In fact, the most compact of all Jesus' short stories does not even fill a complete verse of Scripture. Some of them were no more than fleeting remarks about commonplace incidents, objects, or persons. ![]() Jesus was a master storyteller, and the parables He told were ingeniously simple word pictures. ![]()
